For such a simple shoe style, I oftentimes have a really hard time looking for a jesus sandal to review. I mean, I had to go through pages and pages of footwear just to find a simple pair of sandals like these Bernardo Moroccos:
And these Bernardo Morocco sandals aren’t even that simple – they have two buckled straps, a heel cover and an interwoven strap design when all I was looking for was a plain ol’ leather sandal period.

These even come in a “Silver Fancy Snake” color!
Shiny metallic silver Bernardo Morocco sandals – most definitely not simple!
But I must admit though – these sandals are pretty, pretty enough to catch my attention and have me feature them here on Jesus Sandal. They may not be exactly what I was looking for, but the clean design and quality materials used on these (you can tell just by looking at the pictures) made them stand out from the sea of sandals.
The most interesting thing about these Bernardo Moroccos is actually not anything about the sandal itself but the company who made them. The Bernardo shoe brand has been around since 1947 and counts iconic celebrities such as Jackie O as one of their fans. That in itself is all sorts of impressive!
Some of Bernardo’s shoe styles have also been around nearly as long as the company. That means that popular shoe styles – some dating back to the 1940s – are still being produced and sold to this day. If that’s not proof enough that simplicity and sophistication truly stand the test of time, then I don’t know what is.
The Bernardo Morocco sandals are by no means cheap at $139.00, but timeless elegance is always worth paying a premium for.
